Soft Tissue Indications
Foot & ankle
Containing 33 individual articulating joints, the lower extremity is the most complex system of soft tissues in the human body. Understanding the interactive complexity of required strength and elasticity in these structures, Artelon is at the forefront of dynamic foot and ankle restoration that quickly restore motion and support longterm success.
Artelon has 20+ years of clinical experience in the knee and today it remains a true foundation for our clinical confidence.
Today, reinforcing a reconstruction, augmenting to resist graft creep, and supplementing an insufficient graft are some of the reasons physicians of professional sports teams have chosen Artelon when treating athletic injuries of the knee.
Looking forward, we see tremendous opportunities in the knee to advance expectations and outcomes for patients and their surgeons.
The upper extremity includes the body’s most dynamic joint, as well as the structures we most often depend on daily manual functions. Injuries to soft tissues in these areas are not just painful, but highly disruptive to our lives. Because of this, speed of recovery and restoration of functional stability are both critical for a successful surgical intervention. With the ability to instantly deliver without constraining normal motion, Artelon’s Dynamic Matrix technology is a novel solution for enhancing these reconstructions.
FLEXBAND Indications for use:
Artelon® FlexBand, FlexPatch, and FlexBand Plus Tissue Reinforcement products are intended for use in general surgical procedures for reinforcement of soft tissue where weakness exists. Artelon® FlexBand, FlexPatch, and FlexBand Plus are also intended for reinforcement of soft tissues that are repaired by suture or suture anchors, during tendon repair surgery including reinforcement of rotator cuff, patellar, Achilles, biceps, or quadriceps tendons. Artelon® FlexBand, FlexPatch, and FlexBand Plus are not intended to replace normal body structure or provide the full mechanical strength to support the rotator cuff, patellar, Achilles, biceps, or quadriceps tendons. Sutures, used to repair the tear, and sutures or bone anchors, used to attach the tissue to the bone, provide mechanical strength for the tendon repair. Artelon® Tissue Reinforcement reinforces soft tissue and provides a degradable scaffold that is incorporated into the patient's own tissue.
